Inventor spent 15 years creating the world's first coloured bubbles that don't stain!By: Max Jones
(Rezox TV) - Have you ever seen coloured bubbles??? After over 15 years of tests, trial and error, and mad landlords, Tim Kehoe created the world's first coloured bubbles. He named them 'Zubbles'! Kehoe spent 15 years and an astonishing $3,000,000 creating the world's first ever coloured blowing bubbles, which have now gone on sale. Zubbles were first released in June 2009, and got a HUGE responce from online sales. The substances he used ranged from Jell-O to harsh chemicals such as nitric acid. "A chemist once told me that it was impossible to make coloured bubbles, in addition, the chemist said that it would be beyond impossible to create a coloured bubble that would not stain" Kehoe told Weekend News Today. Kehoe did both, although, it did take him fifteen years. Tim started his own company, Kick Design, it was mainly a front so that he would be able to easily get funding for his continuing bubble (or Zubble) research. So you may be asking yourself, How Do These Work??? Well, They use special dyes called leuco dyes, allowing them to be coloured. The purple bubble uses a chemical called crystal violet lactone. The soap mixture that produces them was the first in the world and marketed under that name by Zubbles. After they have popped, the color disappears with friction, water or exposure to air. Tim is also just about to release a book with a real copy of his many notes through the 15 years it took to create Zubbles. If you are interested in buying Zubbles, you can visit Tim's website at www.Zubbles.com We are having a contest where you can win a package of pink Zubbles! All you have to do is register HERE! |
