The Queen and Prince Phillip took a morning tour through Research in Motion in Waterloo, Ont., the creator of the wildly popular cell phone, BlackBerry.
Greeted by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, Her Majesty arrived in a 20 car motorcade at 11:00AM sharp. The two then proceeded into RIM's building eight where Her Majesty witnessed how a BlackBerry is made.
Each member of the Royal Family own one of the Canadian Creations. A recent press release by the Department of Canadian Heritage stated that “It {The BlackBerry} is the unofficial CIS (Central Intelligence Source) of Buckingham Palace.”
Her Majesty was presented with the best-selling BlackBerry of all time, a white 9700. One of my fellow sarcastic reporters was wondering about the Queen's Cellular Network. “I wonder which one it more royal, Rogers or Bell?!”.
Once again, hundreds of fans waited the arrival of Her Majesty outside the gates of RIM. This was the first time in RIM history that journalists were able to stand of the assembly floor.
