Her Majesty, The Queen attended an hour-long morning worship at Toronto's St. James Cathedral earlier today. Her Majesty arrived yesterday evening at Pearson International Airport after a one-day tour through Manitoba.
The service began at 11AM and Her Majesty arrived, motorcade and all, at 10:55AM, a few minutes behind schedule. The Queen's Motorcade included all types of vehicles with sirens motorcycles, police cars, ambulances and of course the royal limo. The worship lasted for an hour.
Thousands of curious Torontonians gathered to greet Queen Elizabeth II at the Cathedral. Marylyn Smith, 87 of Toronto Stated to us "Many people have told me that I look like the queen and I wanted to see her up close. Waiting in line didn't bother me at all because the police officers were kind enough to give me a chair."
Her Majesty will be celebrating her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, marking 60 years on the throne. Later today, Q2 will be attending 151st running of the Queen's Plate at Woodbine Racetrack. It is the oldest thoroughbred horse race in North America.
This is Her Majesty's 22nd Royal Tour of Canada. (Her 23rd including her first visit to Canada in 1951 as Princess Elizabeth.
