ORLANDO - (Rezox TV) -- Go Go In-Flight Internet has been placed on six domestic carriers in the past months since it's opening in November of last year.  Airlines including Air Tran, Virgin America, Delta, and United have purchased the product and so far, it has been VERY profitable on their aircraft.

If you remember LiveTV, which is on JetBlue and Delta flights?  Well, even LiveTV has been monitoring the decline of usage on aircraft, so their business model is set to the current circumstances.  Passengers are demanding moreWi-Fi on all flights, so, the airlines are giving it to them!  Southwest has even hired a technology group to design it's own Beta Wi-Fi service, which is currently placed on about five flights per day, out of the thousands that Southwest operates.  The service price differs between airlines, but the normal price for a two-hour flight is $12 total.

On the down-side to the product, consumers (the passengers), have some restrictions, as Air Tran Airways has pointed out on their website, calling the program "
internetiquette".  You can visit www.internetiquette.com to watch funny videos, read stories, and look at tips!

The Go Go inflight has even been purchased by private jet owners, including Donald Trump's Gulfstream, as with most of the newer Gulfstream aircraft.

We decided that we would go try out Go Go inflight on an Air Tran flight from Orlando to Atlanta and back...   To us.... it was a very useful product and help me catch up and write this article.

As I am typing, we are interviewing a passenger by the name of Neil, he says "I used Go Go a couple of weeks ago. I was impressed with the speed - it was like being at home.  I doubt that most people will have several flights in a row where there will be connection available. If you do, though, plan on spending a lot!".  Air Tran offers Go Go on all of it's flights regardless of the date, time, route or passenger.

You may be wondering, how does a flying airplane receive a Internet connection at 35,000 feet??? Well, in a nutshell, Go Go's website describes it as "This is an air-to-ground connection using EV-DO technology. EV-DO is the same technology used by Verizon and other cell phone companies to give laptops broadband access through the cell phone network.AirCell has purchased spectrum (800 Mhz) that it will use for its own airborne EV-DO system. Aircell (and other systems like it) can work well when flying over the United States. It would not work well for trans-oceanic flights.".

If you do not understand that, below we have attached Go Go's video which should describe it better than we can!

That raises the question, can you use cell phones on the aircraft too? We asked Go Go and they said "It is possible to do so, but most all airlines do not permit it."

As you can probably see, AirCell's Go Go technology has been growing rapidly in the Travel field, and travel experts expect it will grow even more!
